Salt Lake City has since developed a strong outdoor recreation tourist industry based primarily on skiing. Many winter athletes practice in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City was host to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Skiers continue to flock here to enjoy world-class facilities and the "greatest snow on earth."
